XML

Creating applications using SOAP and XMLHTTP
In this, the final part of Craig Murphy"s SOAP/XMLHTTP series, we look at using XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheet Language for Transformation) to process SOAP requests. Whilst this might sound like an unorthodox approach, it"s actually the mechanism at the heart of the BizTalk mapper and it shows that XML is a very flexible and concise mechanism for Application-to-Application (A2A) and Business-to-Business (B2B) communication.

EASY XML
For more than a year, developers have promised that XML would change the way information is exchanged on the Internet. In recent months, a number of new XML programs have surfaced, and the promise of a new method of information exchange is becoming more of a reality. One of the tools to surface is XMLwriter, a powerful application that helps Web authors take advantage of the latest XML technologies. XMLwriter features the ability to validate XML documents against a DTD or XML Schema, and it can convert XML to HTML using style sheets. Its handsome interface consists of two panes, allowing you to see the entire structure of your XML project and its contents. The program also features syntax highlighting, drag-and-drop support, batch-editing operations, and a built-in preview mode. This is a 30-day trial version.
